Crown S.R.L. processes sunflower seed in Soroca, in the north of the Republic of Moldova, the region that grows the country's best seed. We buy from growers in the surrounding districts, run the seed through our own automated plant and sell kernels, chips and seeds to food and feed manufacturers in more than 20 countries.
The plant was built around one idea: the product is not touched. Intake, OLIS pre-cleaning, ELICA dehulling and calibration, BÜHLER optical sorting, TOMRA X-ray inspection and packing run as one line, and our own laboratory releases every lot. That is how a plant in a small town became Moldova's first exporter of sunflower kernels, with 95 percent of its output going abroad. Our own trucks bring the seed in from the fields, so the chain is closed from harvest to sealed bag.
Behind every shipment is a team of engineers, operators and agribusiness specialists who have done this for years. From seed to shipment we take pride in doing things right. That is why our clients stay, and why our kernels speak for themselves.

Crown is a small team of engineers, operators and agribusiness specialists, and most of us have been here for years. The person who sends your first sample is the person who follows your tenth truck. Each department has one name and one number, and we answer in English, Romanian or Russian within the working day.

A plant in a small town is part of that town. Some of what we do has nothing to do with kernels, and some of it is how we keep the people who make them good at their work.
Our team takes part in the regional blood-donation days. It is a small thing that costs an hour, and the hospital in Soroca counts on it.
Every year we open the plant to students from Soroca's schools and colleges. They see the intake and storage silos, learn how the optical sorter and the X-ray line are set up and serviced, and finish in the laboratory. Some of them come back as colleagues.
Our people keep learning: professional courses for production, laboratory, sales and management, led by certified trainers, from food-safety and quality standards to leadership. Everyone who completes a course receives a certificate, and many of them hang on our walls.
